Idlewild Movie Review 2006

OutKast's Benjamin and Patton make this their own labor of love--a flashy story set in a 1930s Southern speakeasy. Showy performer and manager Rooster (Patton) is trying to keep gangsters from taking over while his partner and piano player Percival (Benjamin) has his own troubles with family and romance. Lots of elaborate production numbers make this look like a Busby Berkeley-inspired affair. The film's release was delayed while OutKast worked on the music. Not yet reviewed.
