Rhapsody of Spring Movie Review 1998

Inspired by the life of one of China's most-respected composers. Zhao (Shao) comes of age during the Cultural Revolution and is torn between preserving the past and living in the present. He studies China's indigenous musical forms and becomes determined to compose a new type of opera that will combine traditional songs within a westernized orchestral arrangement, despite any disapproval.
