Back in the Day Movie Review 2005

Reggie Cooper (Ja Rule) is living with his successful, divorced father (Esposito) in an effort to stay away from the 'hood that nearly cost him his life. But when Reggie reconnects with gangster mentor J-Bone (Rhames) it can only mean trouble because J-Bone has some scores to settle. Reggie gets involved in the murder of a local preacher (Morton), but tries to keep his part a secret after he falls for the man's daughter (Ali). Now he must choose between old loyalties and new love. Decent effort with a familiar cast doing professional work.
