Three generally uninvolving stories about guns from debuting director Avelino. In Oregon, Janet (Harden) and her teen son David (Marquete) are guilt-wracked community outcasts three years after her older son participated in a high school shooting rampage. At a gang-ridden Chicago school, Principal Carter (Whitaker) expels student Jay (Escarpeta) for having a handgun, and the pic follows the teen to his convenience store job where he tries to use the (fake) weapon as intimidation against would-be thieves. In Virginia, co-ed Mary Ann (Cardellini) sets aside her dislike of firearms and learns to shoot after a friend is date-raped.
