Predictable military/boxing flick finds hot-headed, working-class Jake Huard (Franco) set on entering the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. He's finally accepted and finds himself subjected to the berating of disciplinarian Lt. Cole (Gibson), who is certain Jake doesn't have what it takes. However, Jake is a really good boxer and starts training for the Academy's Brigades competition, hoping for a shot at the reigning champ--Cole. The fetching Brewster serves as Jake's superior officer, questionable trainer, and romantic object.
