A group of Hollywood stuntmen call themselves the "Lucky Devils" and live by the motto "a stuntman makes a bad husband and a husband makes a bad stuntman." This proves to be true when Slugger Jones (Bakewell) dies on a stunt shortly after his marriage. When Skipper (Boyd) marries an extra he quickly loses his edge but tries again to pull off one last stunt when he needs the money to cover his wife's hospital bill.
