Arthur "Killer" Kane was the bassist for the 1970s glam-rock band the New York Dolls, going from the excesses of rock 'n' roll (the Dolls broke up in 1975) to obscurity and battling a variety of demons (chemical and otherwise) until a belated recovery and his adoption of the Mormon faith. In 2004, diehard fan Morrissey persuaded Kane to reunite with his two remaining bandmates for a London music festival. Whiteley follows Kane from his settled life in LA to the Dolls' bittersweet reunion. Kane died of leukemia shortly after the concert.
