The True and the False Movie Review 1955

Two stories haunt the dreams of young bride-to-be Josephine (Hasso). When she falls asleep reading Balzac's "La Grande Breteche," Josephine dreams that she and fiance Louis (Langford) are living out the story of infidelity and revenge. In Guy de Maupassant's "The Old Maid" a disfigured young girl loves a soldier who doesn't love her--until she inherits a fortune. In Swedish with subtitles; also available in an English-language version.
