Linda Powell (Lee) stows away aboard a ship heading for the States to find her soldier beau. She assumes the identity of English war bride Joyce Giles, who has decided she wants to stay in England. When Linda arrives, she discovers her G.I. no longer loves her and reporter Steve (Ellison) discovers Linda's deception but falls for the pretty English rose anyway.
