Lanny (Bacon) and Vince (Firth) were a successful '50s showbiz duo (think Martin & Lewis) whose act broke up in 1957 over a sensational scandal involving a dead blonde (Blanchard) in a bathtub. Fifteen years later, ambitious and nubile blonde journalist Karen (a miscast Lohman) is trying to write Vince's bio and wants to know what really happened. Except truth is a subjective idea at best and the men still prefer their secrets to remain that way. A menage a trois scene upset the MPAA so director Egoyan released his voyeuristic noir drama unrated. Adapted from the novel by Rupert Holmes.
