Innocent Voices Movie Review 2004

In the 1980's, Chava (Padilla) is the 11-year-old man of the family, trying to help his mother Kella (Varela) and his siblings survive during El Salvador's protracted civil war. Things are going to get worse since 12 is the legal age for conscription into the right-wing government's army. The horrifying and bewildering events are seen through Chava's eyes and are based on the experiences of co-writer Torres. Spanish with subtitles.
