Based on the book "Capote" by Gerald Clark. Enigmatic Truman Capote (an outstanding Hoffman) was a celebrated author and a member of elite New York society. Biopic sheds light on Capote's obsessive research into the killers behind the startling murders of a Kansas family, which formed the groundwork for his "In Cold Blood," an obsession that ultimately led to Capote's own demise, spiraling into obesity, alcoholism and ouster from the intellectual elite. Hoffman nails his portrayal of the self-absorbed man at his manipulative best.
