Another bigger-than-life role for Al Pacino who plays Walter, the owner of a sports betting advice empire. Walter takes on Brandon Lang (McConaughey) after his incredible football game-picking accuracy gains notice. Brandon, whose NFL hopes were shot down by a career-ending knee injury, moves to Manhattan where under the mentoring of Walter he becomes a game-picking superstar, rocketing into a world of wealth and glamour. Predictably Brandon's hot streak cools, plunging him back to earth. If you can't get enough of Pacino's "Hoo-WAH!" roles, you'll love this one, which borders on self-parody.
