Even if you don't remember the roller-disco craze of the 70s, you'll relive it here. South-side Chicago kid Xavier (Bow Wow) and his buddies find their turf rink closes, so they're forced to go North to the swankier Sweetwater rink where the super-cool Sweetness (Jonathan) holds court. The summer rolls by with skating, flirting, and a growing rivalry until the kids square off in an end-of-summer skate-off. Based on fact, this third film directed by Malcolm Lee (Spike's cousin) is more than worthwhile, rooted in true heart and offering a sweetness that sets it apart.
