Barrio Wars Movie Review 2002

Hip hop Latino Romeo and Juliet staged on the mean streets of L.A. Plato and Angelina are the star-crossed lovers from rival gangs sparking violence and turmoil all over the city. Nice try, but the standard no-budget acting style and a rather jarring soft-core sex scene defeats any intended purpose. But really, what's the point? Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes have already done modern-day Shakespeare much better.
