This BBC version of the Robert Louis Stevenson adventure tale finds orphaned Davie Balfour (Pearson) trying to claim his inheritance from his eccentric Uncle Ebeneezer (Dunbar). Instead, Davie gets kidnapped and imprisoned on a slave ship. Fortunately, he joins forces with exiled rebel Alan Breck (Glen) and the two wind up shipwrecked and running from evil English soldier Colonel McNabb (McGann) and his bounty hunters in the Scottish Highlands circa the 1750s. Exciting swashbuckling abounds.
