Kyle Pratt (Foster) and her daughter Julia (Lawston) are on the flight from Berlin to New York to bury Kyle's husband who, she's told, died after falling (or jumping?) from their apartment roof. She happens to be a propulsion engineer who knows planes inside and out. Kyle wakes from a nap to find Julia simply gone. Worse, the crew and even the passengers don't recall Julia being there, as flight and boarding lists seem to confirm that she wasn't. Tense, psychological and... implausible, but Foster makes it work. Not for the claustrophobic--most of the film's 90 minutes is spernt inside the plane.
