Nineteen year old student Emily Rose (Carpenter) died during an exorcism performed by Father Richard Moore (Wilkinson), who is being tried for negligent homicide. Attorney Erin Bruner (Linney) hopes her defense of the priest will propel her career to the next level. This courtroom drama is interwoven with horror as the freakish circumstances of Emily's death are recounted from the stand. Somewhat predictable, but well worth the viewing for fans of the genre.
