Venice beach bike cop, Tre (Cannon), gets assigned to prep school to investigate a murder. Sounds like it might have promise, but nope. Even the juxtaposition of Tre--the only African American on the starkly white prep school campus--falls flat amidst cheap jokes and predictably cliched circumstances. Poor Cheech Marin, who plays Tre's boss, adds another thankless role to his resume. Why Tre, a trouble-finding high school dropout, is a cop in the first place, is beyond logic.
