The Proud Family Movie Movie Review 2005

The Disney Channel's original television series featuring an animated African American family gets a feature-length storyline. Teenager Penny Proud's parents treat her like a kid, banning her from dancing in a hip-hop half time show and dragging her off to a tropical island for a family vacation. The family finds themselves in trouble when their "vacation" turns out to be an excuse for the evil Dr. Carver to get his hands on dad's hot sauce recipe. Hijinks abound as Penny saves the recipe-and the day. Short enough to sit through with most pre-teens.
