Aging Macedonian politician Lem Nikodinoski (Jovanovski) is rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack and has the time to reflect on his childhood, which was spent in a Stalinist camp intended to indoctrinate the young into proper communists. There, an orphaned 12-year-old Lem (Kekenovski) is taken under the wing of charismatic teen Isak (Stankovska, an actress cast as a boy), which ultimately leads to a wrenching betrayal. Based on the novel by Zivko Cingo; in English and Macedonian with subtitles.
