Tony Takitani Movie Review 2004

Sedate Japanese meditation on love and loneliness that tracks moments in the life of solitary, middle-aged Takitani (Ogata). He comes alive during a romance with young and beautiful Eiko (Miyazawa), whose one fault is that she is a designer clothing shopaholic, which becomes a big problem in their relationship (but does make for an intriguing shopping montage). Adapted from a short story by Haruki Murakami. Japanese with subtitles.
