"A family walks into a talent agency..." and so begins the raunchiest joke in cinematic history. It might seem odd to dedicate an entire documentary to one joke, but co-directors Provenza and Jillette excel at demonstrating how different comedians bring their own unique interpretations to the same material. The all-star interviewees (George Carlin, Chris Rock, and Robin Williams, among many others) speak elegantly about the joys of working "blue," although the true tour-de-force performances come from Bob Saget, Gilbert Gottfried, and Sarah Silverman, who all give blisteringly filthy renditions of the titular joke that you'll be talking about for weeks to come.
