Happy Endings Movie Review 2005

Director Roos somewhat successfully juggles several storylines about life, love, gay love, blackmail, deceit, and making babies that focus on two women whose paths eventually cross. There's Mamie (Kudrow) whose teenage fling with her unrelated stepbrother Charley (Coogan) resulted in a forsaken child and a cheerless, regret-filled life; meanwhile, vagabond Jude (a dynamic Gyllenhaal) manages to weasel her way into her gay friend Otis' home and his widowed father's heart.
