Sentimental and brutal tale about Paul (Eden), a 10-year-old boy trying to stay in control of his life and save his mother from her addiction to heroin. Everyone around him is either an addict, a prostitute, or a pusher, yet he remains in confident denial of his true situation. The bad choices and ludicrous behavior of the adults in his life are perpetual and heartbreaking. Fine acting, especially by Eden; well shot but story on the whole is emotionally unsatisfying.
