Director Argott's dynamic documentary lays bare the life of offbeat and intense music teacher Paul Green and his School of Rock Music, an after-school program in Philadelphia for highly-skilled nine to 17-year-olds. Flipping between cursing and berating his pupils to chumming around with them, Green prepares his most gifted group for an inspired appearance at the annual Zappanale festival in Germany (a tribute to the late rocker Frank Zappa). Green is often thought to be the basis for Jack Black's comedy "School of Rock," though its creators have refuted the claim.
