Director Ghobadi's stark and engrossing tale of the unending daily sufferings of refugee children living on the Iraq-Turkey border as they await the U.S.-led invasion in early 2003. Essentially absent of adults, Ghobadi centers on 13-year-old Satellite (Ebrahim)--who uses his technical savvy to bring TV to the camp so they can watch news channels--along with his rival Hengov, disfigured by landmines, and Hengov's withdrawn sister Agrin who rebuffs Satellite's romantic advances. In Kurdish, with English subtitles.
