Fever Pitch Movie Review 2005

Math teacher Ben meets unlucky-in-love career woman Lindsey. Looking for a change from the usual (successful) guys she dates, she agrees to go out with him, and a relationship ensues. Then the other spike drops. He's an obsessive Red Sox fan and must choose between his love for Lindsey and the Sox. Standard romantic comedy is raised a level by coinciding with the Red Sox' historic 2004 comeback against the Yankees and subsequent World Series victory. Adapted from Nick Hornby's novel about an obsessive soccer fan. A solid outing, but the brothers Farrelly show signs of losing a little zip off their fastball.
