Morgan's Ferry Movie Review 1999

Kinder, gentler "Desperate Hours" has three escaped cons, Sam (Zane), Monroe (Rollins), and Darcy (Galecki) happen upon the modest cottage of spinster Vonee (McGillis) and hold her hostage. Not only is she not afraid of the trio, but she falls in love with charming, sensitive Sam and hides him when his buddies decide to split. Interesting cast and nice twist on the escaped-cons-take-hostage story make this one better than it should be.
