Generational conflict explodes into epic machine war above the streets of an alternate Victorian London. It all revolves around something called the steamball, a dangerous revolutionary new form of power created by a father-son pair of mad scientists (Stewart and Molina) who battle for the loyalty of a grandson (Paquin) and the proper use of their invention. Overwrought, over-thought anime spectacle with some absolutely mind-blowing visuals from the mind of "Akira" creator Otomo. Could have benefited from some wise surgical editing. Original and English language versions available.
