Creepy demon-child Samara (Chase) continues to pursue reporter Rachel (Watts) and her son (Dorfman). This time around the killer videotape is dispensed with early on in favor of a more traditional possession theme. Samara wants all the comforts of Mommy and home, and seems to find them in the son's body. Excruciatingly slow, confused, and almost totally unfrightening wreck, this time helmed by the director of the original Japanese film, who should have known better.
