A modern-day Scottish "Romeo & Juliet," with star-crossed mediocrity between a Pakistani DJ and a Catholic music teacher. The culture-clash throws both families into panic (you know the story). Another notch in a series of socially-adept films from director Ken Loach and writer Paul Laverty. This time around they bring a little less humor and a little more drama, albeit stilted, which, along with weak performances and nearly unintelligible accents may turn off a majority of Western audiences.
