Troy Duffy's "The Boondock Saints" has garnered a cult following on video, but this documentary about the story behind the film will make viewers recoil in disbelief at how one man's hubris and self-delusion can sink a promising career. During the indie film boom of the 1990s, Miramax offered Duffy $1 million for his "Boondock" script and signed his band to a record deal. Convinced of his own greatness, Duffy alienates and bullies everyone around him until he loses every opportunity he's been handed. It's hard to sympathize with Duffy, particularly because he originally hired Montana and Smith to direct the doc as a chronicle of his rise to the top. Weak in spots, but it's still schadenfreude at its best.
