The scandalous 18th-century French novel "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" is transported to Korea during the publicly conservative (and privately wicked) Chosun dynasty. Jo Weon (Bae) is a pleasure-seeking artist whose manipulative cousin, Lady Jo (Mi-suk Lee), wants him to seduce virginal teen Soh-ok (So-yeon Lee), who's about to become her husband's concubine. Jo Weon is more interested in the virtuous Catholic widow, Lady Jeong (Jeon), as a challenge. If you've seen any of the other film versions of the novel, you know what's coming. Korean with subtitles.
