Splatter film finds a serial killer named Jigsaw playing sadistic games with two men he's kidnapped: doctor Lawrence Gordon (Elwes) and photog Adam (co-writer Whannell). They're chained on opposite corners of a filthy bathroom with a corpse between them, several other items, a couple of hacksaws, and a time limit. They have to collaborate and figure out the clues left them in order to free themselves before the doc's wife and child (who are being held hostage) are killed. Oh, and the saws aren't strong enough to cut through metal but flesh and bone isn't a problem. Glover figures in as an obsessed ex-cop who's had previous dealings with Jigsaw. Lots of gruesome flashbacks and various cheap scares.
