Virgin Movie Review 2003

Fundamentalist's rebellious daughter becomes pregnant after being drugged and date-raped. Not remembering the assault, she declares herself Virgin Mother to the Second Coming, and is not surprisingly attacked by her family and community. Odd feminist parable seems unsure whether to take itself seriously or not. Intense and unforgettable central performance by Moss does little to rid film of its contrived weirdness.
