A sluggish homage to the 1996 French thriller "L'Appartement." Chicago advertising exec Matthew (Hartnett) is engaged to Rebecca (Pare), his boss' sister, when he thinks he sees his one true love, Lisa (Kruger), who disappeared from his life two years before. Matt cancels a business trip and tells no one except best bud Luke (Lillard) as he hunts for the dame. This leads him to an apartment rented by the mysterious Alex (Byrne), who was Lisa's neighbor. Romantic obsession, stalking, and many confusing flashbacks ensue and everyone, except for the goofy Lillard, seems quite glum.
