Made-for-TNT remake of the 1979 miniseries based on Stephen King's novel, this time a bit more faithful to the book, but still using the miniseries format. Writer Ben Mears (Lowe) returns to his hometown to exorcise some personal demons, only to find a real-life demon, in the form of vampire Barlow (Hauer) taking over. Resurrects characters and subplots that the original ignored, but the pacing is too rushed to create any real atmosphere or genuine chills. Another in a long line of disappointing King adaptations.
