Tale of animal estrangement and reconciliation combining reality sequences with re-creations of authentic situations. Follows a family tribe of shepherds through the camel's birthing season, a way of life that is slowly being eliminated. When one camel mother rejects her white calf, a musician from the village is sent to perform a musical ceremony using a two-stringed, boxlike violin and soothing, hypnotic, melodies to reunite calf and mother. Some may argue the re-created sequences are out of balance or perhaps unnecessary but the story is presented in a thoughtful, honest manner. In Mongolian with English subtitles.
