Phileas Fogg (Coogan) bets the London science community that he can circumnavigate the earth in 80 days, aided by assistant Passpartout (Chan). Surprising no one, a few people don't want him to make it. This time around Passpartout steals the show as a martial arts expert trying to return a stolen sacred heirloom to his village in China. In fact, Fogg's unworldly inventor seems at times like the sidekick. While departing wildly from the source material, it's lightweight fun better suited to the lowered expectations of a rental. As in the previous version, entertaining cameos add to the humor. Schwarzenegger is especially silly as an over-the-top lusty Turkish prince.
