Riddick (of "Pitch Black" fame) is back in this overstuffed compilation of cliched space shenanigans. The fascist Necromongers, led by Lord Marshall (Feore), have one edict: join us or we destroy your planet. Dame Judi Dench goes slumming as an ethereal prophetess named Aereon, who predicts that Riddick (Diesel again) will once again (if reluctantly) be a big hero. Diesel scowls a lot and then goes about saving the galaxy with a lot of big battles but not much gore given the MPAA rating. All acting is subordinate to the action anyway, but Newton swans about nicely as a devious wife who thinks her hubby (Urban) should be head creep.
