Playing like a dozen similar demon-child redos, pic tries for originality by combining modern technology with typical genre supernatural creepiness. Cute 8-year-old Adam Duncan is a killed in a freak auto accident. Grieving parents Paul (Kinnear) and Jessie (Romijn-Stamos) have no sooner buried their adored son when they are approached by Dr. Wells (De Niro) who offers to harvest their dead son's cells for cloning and subsequent rebirth via Jessie. Naturally, the couple agree. When the Adam clone reaches his 8th birthday, however, things start to go eerily awry. Kinnear and Romijn-Stamos are convincing while De Niro has more problems with his cliched character.
