Noi Movie Review 2003

Feature debut of Kari is set in a remote Icelandic fjord village cut off from the world by winter weather. Noi (Lemarquis) is a misfit 17-year-old who lives with his eccentric grandma (Fridriksdottir) and gets expelled from school for being a smart-ass. He begins a diffident romance with newcomer Iris (Hansdottir) and wants to escape the constraints of his life, but just can't manage to get anywhere-much like the film. Icelandic with subtitles.
