Writer/director Bergman's touching feature debut about an Israeli family's inability to cope with the recent loss of patriarch David. Widow Dafna Ulman (Zilberschatz-Banai) takes up working odd shifts as a midwife for a local hospital, forcing 17-year-old daughter Maya (Maron) to put her music career on hold to care for younger siblings Ido (Daniel Magon) and Bahr (Eliana Magon). Faring little better is 16-year-old son Yair (Gvirtz), who has thrown away a potential basketball career by dropping out of school and now passes out leaflets in the subway dressed in a mouse costume. Things suddenly go from bad to worse, forcing the Ulmans into crisis mode. Simply told but very effective human drama. In Hebrew with subtitles.
