Sentimental "Afterschool-Special"influenced drama has troubled kid Charlie fall in with the wrong crowd, get in trouble, and find himself helping an eccentric old lady in her garden as punishment. This is one of those sappy dramas in which everyone who is not a part of Charlie's dysfunctional family is gentle, quirky, insightful, and always right. Of course, everone in his family is none of these things, and desperately in need of these kinds of people to point out what they were doing wrong and help them mend their ways. As if that wasn't bad enough, there's a puppy drowning.
