Friends David (Grandberry) and Elgin (Houston)--both from real-life hip hop groups, B2K and IMx, respectively--have a falling out before the big street-dance contest that could earn them $50,000. David is a bit of a tomcat and wants to date Elgin's cute sister, Liyah (Freeman). There's also the issue of the busted drug run. This is about as complex as the story gets. Rookie writer-director Stokes--also of B2K with music-video directing credits--puts all the dancers' energy and talent out there but chops up the segments, thus diminishing the overall effect. Oh and, just to be clear, "you got served" means "I beat you...and BAD." So there.
