Another telling of the legend of Australian outlaw Ned Kelly (Ledger), based on the novel "Our Sunshine" by Robert Drewe. Kelly was falsely imprisoned for three years and faced such harassment from corrupt law officers that he took up bank robbery with a gang of four others and became a folk hero for the lower class. Ledger fits the role well but Orlando Bloom (as Kelly's Gang member Joe Byrne) is a true scene-stealer. Very genuine, well-made effort with a brutal final showdown between the police and the gang, but the presentation doesn't always flow well.
