Intermission Movie Review 2003

Smashingly fast-paced action and snappy dialogue dominate this lively ensemble piece set in Dublin and led by ruffian Colin Farrell who kicks off the mayhem with--quite literally--a doozy of a punch that sets the tone. Writer O'Rowe swirls around many plotlines but eventually connects all the players in stories involving love, infidelity, kidnapping, and bank robbery--although the latter is the crux. There's violence and obscenities aplenty and some may feel they're superfluous but removing them would leave this wild ride devoid of its appealingly shocking qualities.
