Director Ross McElwee set out to re-trace Sherman's March through Georgia and document that event's lingering effect on the modern South. Instead, after his girlfriend left him shortly before filming began, he ended up documenting how the various southern women he encountered affected him. McElwee's self-depracating manner and the interesting variety of women he meets keep things enjoyable.
