Kathy (Connolly) is a recovering alcoholic whose husband recently left her. Because of a bureaucratic mix-up, she finds her house has been auctioned off from beneath her to Colonel Massoud Behrani (Kingsley), a former Iranian officer desperate to live the American dream. What follows is the conflict and struggle between the two, neither of which are evil or wrong in their viewpoints. Superb acting all around, combined with an interesting story. Based on the best-selling novel by Andre Dubus III.
